Ingredients

  • For the bars:
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups animal cracker crumbs, can substitute vanilla wafer crumbs or graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • For the topping:
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 10 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped

Directions

Step 1 -In a food processor, add the melted butter, the cracker crumbs, the powdered sugar, and 1 1/2 cups of the creamy peanut butter and cover the processor.

Step 2 -Process until the peanut butter mixture is smooth.

Step 3 -In a 9x13-inch baking pan, add the peanut butter mixture and spread it out evenly.

Step 4 -In a microwave-safe bowl, add the remaining creamy peanut butter and the chocolate and microwave until melted, about 1 minute.

Step 5 -Stir until the chocolate and the peanut butter are combined and smooth.

Step 6 -Spread the chocolate-peanut butter mixture evenly over the peanut butter mixture in the dish.

Step 7 -Cover the dessert and chill until it is set, about 15 minutes in the freezer or about 1 hour in the refrigerator.

Step 8 -Cut the dessert into bars and serve.
