When in the Deep South, you'll find some true American cooking that takes you to a simpler time! Take Slow Cooker Mississippi Pork Chops for example. These tender and succulent chops are slow cooked in spicy pepperoncini juice, luscious gravy, and zesty ranch seasonings. With some rich butter for an added depth of flavor, Slow Cooker Mississippi Pork Chops do the Magnolia State proud.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds pork chops, boneless
- 1 (12-ounce) jar sliced pepperoncini
- 1 (1-ounce) envelope dry ranch seasoning packet
- 1 (0.87-ounce) package brown gravy mix
- 1 stick butter, cut into 8 tablespoons
- mashed potatoes, optional, to taste, cooked and hot, for serving
- peas, optional, to taste, cooked and hot, for serving
Directions
Step 1 -In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the pork chops and sear them just until they pick up a little color, about 1 minute per side.
Step 2 -In an 8-quart slow cooker, add the pork chops.
Step 3 -Add the jar of pepperoncini and their juices to the slow cooker.
Step 4 -Sprinkle the ranch seasoning and the brown gravy mix over the pork chops in the slow cooker.
Step 5 -Place the butter evenly over top of the pork chops.
Step 6 -Cover the slow cooker and cook on low until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F and is very tender, about 6 hours.
Step 7 -Serve the pork chops with the mashed potatoes and the peas.
