Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • kosher salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds, lightly toasted
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 green onions, thinly sliced, divided

Directions

Step 1 -Place a large baking sheet on the middle rack of the oven.

Step 2 -Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 3 -Tear a large piece of parchment paper and set it aside.

Step 4 -In a large, resealable plastic bag, add 1 of the chicken breasts.

Step 5 -Squeeze the air of the bag and seal it.

Step 6 -Using a rolling pin or a meat mallet, pound the chicken breast in the bag to 1/2-inch-thickness.

Step 7 -Transfer the flattened chicken from the bag and repeating the flattening process with the remaining chicken breasts.

Step 8 -Season the flattened chicken breasts evenly with the salt and the black pepper.

Step 9 -Transfer the flattened chicken breasts to the prepared piece of parchment paper, spreading them out evenly.

Step 10 -In a large bowl, add the cream cheese and the mayonnaise and use a large spoon or spatula to stir until smooth.

Step 11 -Add the cheddar cheese, the bacon, the almonds, the garlic powder, and 1/2 of the green onions to the cream cheese mixture and stir to combine.

Step 12 -Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the tops of the chicken breasts.

Step 13 -Carefully transfer the parchment paper with the chicken breasts to the hot baking sheet.

Step 14 -Bake until the cheese is melted and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 10-15 minutes.

Step 15 -Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 16 -Serve garnished with the remaining green onions.
